Executive Branch

What is the Executive Branch?

The Executive Cabinet is composed of the President, Vice President and Department members. Each Department is run by a Director and if applicable Deputy Directors and Assistant Directors. The President, Vice President, Directors, Deputy Directors, are paid positions. All Departments are funded through the executive budget and are allocated a set amount of funds for programming and services. Hiring for positions in the executive branch occurs at the discretion of the Office of the President following the elections in April of each school year, and as needed throughout the duration of their administration.

Executive Branch Departments

President's Office

The President's Office includes the President, Vice President, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief of Staff. Responsible for all oversight of the executive branch, works with administration to give a student voice on important issues.

Department of Academics

The Department of Academics works with faculty to implement policy to better the student experience at CSU including course surveys, excused absence policy, a first year seminar, the test file, and May Days.

Department of Community Affairs

The Department of Community Affairs works with the community regarding policies affecting students at CSU, and cultivates relationships with officials in the municipal government.

Department of Diversity and Inclusion

The Department of Diversity and Inclusion is committed to creating and maintaining safe and inclusive spaces on campus for all students, faculty, and staff of Colorado State University.

Department of Environmental Affairs

The Department of Environmental Affairs is responsible for facilitating discussions and actions focused on sustainability throughout Colorado State University to help mitigate the campus’ negative impact on the environment.

Department of Finance

The Department of Finance manages the budget for ASCSU, as well as overseeing the board for student organization funding which provides money to a variety of different student groups.

Department of Governmental Affairs

The Department of Governmental Affairs works toward improving the state of political literacy, efficacy, and participation on and around the CSU campus.

Department of Health

The Department of Health works towards promoting the comprehensive health and wellbeing of CSU students by providing events, resources and policy from Body Acceptance week to the Chronic Health Mentoring Program.

Department of Marketing

The Department of Marketing works to ensure that the ASCSU can effectively communicate the purpose, function, and programs of ASCSU, in order inform all CSU students about the available resources and upcoming events

Department of Outreach

The Department of Outreach is dedicated to opening opportunities for all students to get involved in ASCSU and around campus, Outreach administers the Ram Leadership Team and can quickly connect any student to involvement opportunities.

Department of Traditions and Programs

The Department of Traditions and Programs enhances and promoting the living traditions of CSU, Traditions and Programming, and organizes and improves longstanding events from Grill the Buffs to the Forevergreen T-Shirt Contest

Department of University Affairs

The Department of University Affairs serves as the voice of students to CSU Staff, and seeks to cultivate a productive environment for student success by working closely on issues ranging from the Stadium to On-Campus Parking
