Department of Governmental Affairs

The ASCSU Department of Governmental Affairs focuses on two things: political efficacy and political participation. The Department of Governmental Affairs is responsible for organizing student advocacy at the state level; these goals translate to developing and tracking legislative/regulatory priorities within the Colorado State General Assembly, as well as testifying within committee public hearings that impact the students of Colorado State University.

It is our job to not only help students become involved in politics, but be knowledgeable in how to continue having their voice heard. In addition to developing a strategic plan for the 2016 General Election, the following events facilitate the development of political efficacy:

  • National Voter Registration Day (September)
  • Presidential Primary Informational Session (November 19th)
  • Day at the Capitol (February 10th)
