The Senate is composed of representatives from the academic colleges and resource offices. These Senate members learn how to operate in a democratic body and develop constituency service and deliberative skills while serving students and learning about the broader community.
Each week, Senate meets Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. in the Lory Student Center Senate Chambers Room 204). All community members are welcome to attend.

External CommitteesASCSU has many committees that they support and offer representation to. All senators are required to sit on one external committee.

Writing LegislationThere is a specific template to follow and a timeline which should be adhered to in order to have legislation pass more smoothly through the senate.
Internal CommitteesAll Senators are required to sit on at least one internal committee. The committees are responsible for creating, editing, and sponsoring legislation, as well as offering an open forum to discuss issues with any CSU student.
Senate LeadershipThis includes the Speaker Pro-Tempore, Parliamentarian, Membership Officer, and Outreach Officer. These are the students responsible for keeping senators accountable both inside and outside of the senate session, and maintaining order and adherence to Robert’s Rules of Order.
