ASCSU Updates
Open House
ASCSU is hosting an Open House on January 24th, 2025 from 12-5 in the ASCSU office complex. Executive staff members of ASCSU will be required to be here for at least 1 hour of the time between 12-5, with the intent of being present for students to answer questions and discuss the endless possibilities we can create in the spring.
Input from interns, members of the Legislative and Judicial Branches will also be helpful, so if extra time presents itself- please sign up and share this information with your friends.
This means: DO NOT schedule meetings you can not step out of during the time you select to be present for the open house. Any members of ASCSU who can not make this event will need to let Chief Nunley know, IMMEDIATELY.
Spotlight
This week, we shine the spotlight on 3 members of ASCSU nominated by their peers.
Lauren Davis (Chair, Housing Caucus; Senator, SAFE Center) – “Lauren works so incredibly hard and diligently, ensuring that Housing Caucus is always taking tangible action toward affordable housing.”
Vladimir Lora Pardo (Senator, Academic Advancement Center; Chair, Students of the Oval) – “Vlad truly is a dedicated senator. He advocates for both his constituents and the overall efficiency and transparency of ASCSU. Most recently, he was elected as the Chair of the Students of the Oval Caucus. Through this role he aims to continue previous advocacy in connecting students to student government and campus resources. Congratulations and we are looking forward to your future endeavors as Chair!”
Ariel Sutherland (Executive Intern) – “I recently got to hear more about Ariel’s project regarding composting in the LSC and Ariel is incredibly knowledgable about the topic as well as creating sustainable living outcomes for students and the life around us. Ariel is an innovator for change in the realm of sustainability. Ariel is a change maker for sure.”
