ASCSU Updates

The Legislative Strategic Advisory Board is a volunteer board and is unpaid.
General Eligibility: All applicants for the Legislative Strategic Advisory Board shall be students enrolled in at least one (1) on-campus credit at Colorado State University and must be in good academic and disciplinary standing at the time of their appointment. They shall maintain this standing and enrollment status throughout their term of office.
Members of LSAB will be hired by the ASCSU Department of Governmental Affairs and approved by a majority vote of the Senate. The Legislative Strategic Advisory Board shall serve a term from December 3 (or separate ratification date) until the end of the academic year.
At-large members may not hold a position in any other branch of ASCSU.
Fall Job-Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Attend a Senate session for ratification on December 3, 2025.
  • Attend introductory meeting for policy agenda setting.
Spring Job-Specific Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Attend weekly/ bi-weekly Board meetings.
  • Complete adequate policy research prior to meetings to inform decision making.
  • Engage in thoughtful and productive dialogue regarding policies discussed.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability and interest to advocate for the Students of Colorado State University. Act in compliance with the expectations outlined in the ASCSU governing documents including the ASCSU Constitution and ASCSU Code of Ethics.
  • Follow all Colorado State University policies, including the Student Code of Conduct.
  • Ability to communicate in an efficient, accurate, and clear fashion with individuals of various backgrounds and positions.

LSAB Members are directly accountable to the Students of Colorado State University via the Director of Governmental Affairs.

Evening with Your Elected Officials: Evening with Your Elected Officials is an annual event presented by the ASCSU Department of Governmental Affairs. At this event, you will engage with local elected officials on the issues that college students are facing today. The event will be held on December 4, 2025, from 6-8p.m. in the Lory Student Center Ballroom D. Upon confirming attendance, more information will be shared.
