ASCSU Updates

Sign up for the Higher Education Basic Needs Summit! This summit brings together colleges and universities from across Northern Colorado for a full day of discussions, collaboration, and interactive workshops centered around basic needs! Food and transportation provided, and half-day attendance is available upon request.

Spring 2026 Commencement Volunteer Opportunities 

We are only a few weeks away from the Spring 2026 Commencement and are working to fill over 1200 commencement support roles between May 14-17. These roles bring commencement to life as we celebrate over 5,000 graduates via 22 ceremonies. The University-wide ceremony will be hosted at Canvas Stadium on May 16 at 10:00 a.m. and college-level recognition ceremonies will take place both May 15 and 16. Would you have the opportunity to share via your office staff, students, orgs and channels information about how to volunteer for commencement? If you have availability, we invite you to sign up as a volunteer to support our graduates and their families/friends alongside us.

There’s a wide variety of ways to help support Commencement and it’s easy to sign up via our volunteer sign‑up survey. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Guest relations and wayfinding
  • Graduate lineup and ceremony support
  • Accessibility assistance
  • Venue and campus operations
  • Setup and teardown
    …and more!

We’ll host trainings once again to help set volunteers up for success as well as provide additional information via email prior to your volunteer times/roles. As always, please let me know what questions you may have – or feel free to reach out to our broader Commencement team at [email protected].

Spotlight Submission

This week, the front desk recognizes our very own Tuan Vo! 

“Tuan started with the front desk almost three months ago, though it feels like he’s been here for years. He is quick to make a joke or come up with creative new ideas for the Front Desk (stay tunned for a potential fd Instagram..). In general, Tuan is an incredible worker and fantastic new addition to our front desk team. Shout out Tuan for all that you do!!”
